The assignment was to prepare a site development plan and feasibility study for a 20-acre cruise terminal and festival market place in Kochi, India. It was initiated based on a forecast of increasing cruise passenger traffic to India in general, and Kochi in particular. In consultation with the Cochin Port Trust, the design team compiled a conceptual layout plan of the International Cruise Terminal and Public Plaza that incorporated all of the facilities that were required. The financial model included analysis of key variables such as passenger demand, construction costs and timing, revenue rates and other variables that may be out of the control of the developer.

Project involved the development of a new harbor and breakwater complex for use as a multi-purpose marine terminal; primarily to expand handling facilities at the port. . The development was planned to the west of the existing breakwater along with the construction of a new breakwater, a sheltered mooring basin as well as an area of reclaimed land. Based on the analysis of the physical and operational characteristics of the existing facilities, a general plan was developed with ideal terminal layouts to meet the subsequent facility and port requirements. The most feasible option proposed was the Mechanized Iron Ore 8 million tonne per annum Handling Plant Capacity Port . A well-planned phase development proposal was provided to assure orderly progress for capital improvements, port flexibility in line with future demand with minimum disruption of existing operations including a detailed Financial evaluation.

The project was directed at conducting a detailed feasibility study for the Development of the entire Vasco Bay region which forms part of the Mormugao Port Trust. An assessment of its development potential involved various activities closely related to the relocation of the existing fishing harbour and resettlement of the slum dwellers in the region.

The developments envisaged for the Vasco Bay were all Port related activities including reclamation, planning and design of the required berths and installation of equipment and other support systems , ship building and repair activities as well. Based on the operational requirements, the study projected various options for the development of the location with a view to determining the most effective and economical arrangements that would be viable under the conditions prevailing and consistent with the site conditions. Various options were designed at appropriate scale and their cost and operational implications analyzed in sufficient detail including recommendation of phase-wise development. Planning and designing facilities for Navy and Coast guard berths were also carried out

The project focussed on the feasibility of developing the existing Berth No. 11 at the Mormugao Port, into a fully mechanized, environmentally friendly coal handling terminal with the least possible dust generation. The study included technical feasibility with an in-depth analysis of existing structures and facilities to ascertain further improvements that need to be addressed. The study also covered cost estimates and viability calculations besides suggesting covered storage facilities, conveying systems and mechanized handling facilities. Our study conducted and analysed market surveys/studies, identified equipment and processes and estimated the cost and financial feasibility with an aim to increase cold handling capacity threefold with a fully mechanized terminal.

The proposed port at Tadadi is planned to be located in the estuary of the Aghanashini River. The backwaters of the river has got a vast water front and stacking area and there is a good scope to develop a port with modern infrastructural facilities. This project has been projected for development under DBFOT ( Design Built Finance operate & Transfer) concept through Public private participation. The objective of this consultancy was to study the feasibility of development and construction of a green field Port and associated facilities. In order to do so, detailed engineering surveys and investigations, traffic & Demand studies and social impact assessments were carried out to prepare a master plan for the port including all associated facilities. Based on this a complete a BOQ and costs of developing were estimated. To establish the technical viability of the project The scope of the project also included hand holding the client till the signing of the concession agreement .

Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India (DFCCIL) is a Special Purpose Vehicle set up under the administrative control of Ministry of Railways to undertake planning & development, mobilization of financial resources and construction, maintenance and operation of the Dedicated Freight Corridors. The plan to construct dedicated freight corridors across the country marks a strategic inflexion point in the history of Indian Railways that has essentially run mixed traffic across its network. Mir Project and Consultants assignment is for the development of the most important hub on the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor – stretching from Jawaharlal Nehru Port (JNPT) in Mumbai to Tughlakabad and Dadri near Delhi which would cater largely to the container transport requirements between the existing and emerging ports in Maharashtra and Gujarat and the northern hinterland. Mir is undertaking the task of conducting a techno economic feasibility study for the development of the Mega Multi Modal Logistics Parks (MMLPs) planned to be developed under a PPP model.

It also scrutinizes the impact of increasing traffic on the Andaman Trunk road. The focus of the A&N administration is on improving the quality and economy of transportation in island-mainland, inter island and intra island sectors. The project focusses in studying and proposing a viable modal mix given the relative cost of shipping, air and road transportation services and keeping in view the fragile eco-system and environment of islands.

Cochin Fisheries Harbour is one of the major Fishing Harbours in India located on the west coast in Kerala. CFH is located on 26.87 acres of land and though the harbor was developed many years ago, it had failed to keep abreast with the changing requirements. The project aims to utilize the land available in the CFH by looking at modernizing of entire CFH area, dismantling old structures if required and generating revenue by leasing out facilities or land to businesses providing seafood processing and fishing technology related products and services. As land is a scarce and vital asset of the Harbour, there was need for developing a land use plan to make optimal and the most efficient utilization of the available land. The project prepared a detailed Master Plan for effective land use at Cochin Fisheries Harbour making the harbour self sustained.

The Vadakara Municipality aims to prepare an integrated waste water treatment system under the Urban Infrastructure Development Scheme for Small and Medium Towns (UIDSSMT). As a part of this the municipality has envisaged a separate project to develop its existing drainage system to restore natural drains and attain a cleaner and hygienic town premises. Mir projects was assigned to prepare DPR for storm water and sewerage networking (UGD) after conducting a field study. The project is expected to be implemented within a five year period with the support of project funding.

The project Master Plan preparation and development of Gwalior Counter Magnet Area which is one of the five counter magnet areas being planned to decongest and the National Capital Region. Mir Projects and Consultants, the consultancy wing of the Kochi based Mir Group along with their associates Gujarat Ecology Society and Foundation of Ecology Society have been awarded the contract for Preparation of the Ecology Profile of Coastal Talukas in the Gulf of Kutch. The project is to be implemented through the Gujarat Ecology Commission and is being funded by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (The World Bank) or the International Development Association. The project covers 13 Talukas in 3 Districts of the Gulf of Kutchch, Gujarat and the eventual aim is to prepare one of the largest ecological and environmental databank at block and village levels to help and assist management support systems and provide additional source of data for Integrated Coastal Zone Management Plans.
